Atmospheric Shield
This shield offers no physical protection; it's designed to keep atmosphere in while physical matter passes through unharmed. The device is a 6' tower shield emitter. The shield can be programed to cover any 90 square foot area. Multiple atmospheric shields can be placed together to cover a larger area. These shields are most commonly used by planet colonist, miners, and others who need to work in inhospitable environments. Availability: Uncommon.
Civilian Hard Suit
A suit made with advanced polymer resin plates, this armor is available in several colors and styles. Most commonly worn by colonist, private guards and civilian milita. Availability: Common.
Force Shield Belt
For those who can't afford the galactic credits or the bulk of a hard suit armor. The belt has four small shield emitters that cover a person. Though the technology is reliable, the shields will go down after taking enough damage and will need to be restarted (on the next round). Availability: Common.
Jump Jets
Small booster jets with sensors that auto-trigger when a jump is initiated. The boosters can be attached to shield belts or mounted to hard suits. Availability: Common.
Military Hard Suit
A more sturdy version of the Civilian Hard Suit. These suits are often worn by Peackeepers and Military forces. Availability: Uncommon.
Space Hard Suit
Designed for engineers and others that work in the vaccum of outer space, this hardsuit also has life support capabilities (Immunity 9: life support) and features magnetic-lock boots (Super-Movement 1: wall-crawling, limited: metal surfaces) for working on the outer hulls of spacecraft. Availability: Uncommon.
Most inner hulls of starships are sheilded against damage from energy blast, suffering from only half the effect. Ballistic, burst, or explosion damage have full effect. Breaching the inner hull will cause immediate loss of life support in that section of the ship or station for one round, before the shield kicks in to seal it. Breaching both the inner and outer hulls from inside causes immediate loss of life support in that section also jettisoning anything not bolted down into the vacuum of space for 1 round until the bulk head doors close to seal the section. Most combat inside starships and space stations take place either hand to hand or with melee and small arms weapons.

Variable Force Fields are split into 4 quadrants around a ship; bow, starboard, port, and aft. The toughness bonus of the various quadrants can be moved around for increased protection in a certain quadrant, never going over the maxium. For example; An EA standard cruiser has a Variable Force Field 5, so each quadrant has a toughness bonus of 5. The crusier takes two blast to the bow, and since all shields are ablative, now only has a toughness bonus of 3 on the bow quadrant. On the engineer's (or pilot's) next turn, as a move action, he can move 2 toughness bonus points from the aft quadrant (taking it down to 3) to the bow quadrant, restoring the original bonus of 5. This can continue to be done until all quadrants are depleted.
